With sweaters now in the outfit rotation, it was only a matter of time before you saw stripes.
Striped sweaters are a fall staple for me. They add such a classic element to an outfit and are easily layered with a variety of pieces (dresses, collared shirts, long tees…you get the idea).
For this look, I layered a striped cream and black sweater over (yet another) summery sundress, participated in the lace-up shoe trend, and added a feminine touch with accessories. The overall color pallet is pretty neutral, allowing the stripes and floral print to compliment each other rather than compete. And for those who say that black and brown don’t mix, they do if you do it right. (The same goes for black and navy, but that’s for another time.) The taupe sandals are another compliment to the floral pattern in the dress without being too matchy-matchy. The height and style give the look a more casual vibe than say a pair of black stiletto sandals.

How are you working sweaters into your day-to-day outfit ensemble?
